And as we work so hard together to inform and support families and schools for the sake of our children’s health, the Commissioner of Agriculture for our beloved and beleaguered state of Texas is doing his best to push us backwards into further depths of childhood obesity. And, no, parents can’t do this alone. It takes a village. And, yes, it is all of our business and all of our responsibility to stand up and speak out for the sake of children. Again, it takes a strong, informed, and loving community. And there are many forms and many degrees of child abuse. Children are at the mercy of society through their families and their schools – and at the mercy of their government.
